Max Weight for Carbon Cobra Seat Post

Hi,

I would like to buy one of the Cobra's (or other seat posts at your suggestion) but need to confirm my 210lbs will be OK with this model. I have bent my current AL Seat Post, its 27.2 @ 350mm so want to replace with something thats stronger for my XC riding.

Would you recommend the Cobra or one of the others, weight isnt a factor, but strength is.

Thanks

Hi

The maximum rider weight limit for the Cobra seat post is 100Kg / 220Lbs.

As you would expect, all our seatposts are tested and certified to International Strength and Safety standards.

The Cobra is a great seatpost and the full monocoque design makes it very strong indeed, as well as making it look fantastic. Recommended!

Thanks

Hi Support,

Question:
My current post is AL and my Frame is Ti, so a bike shop told me to grease up the post to keep it from seizing together, so my tube has grease in it.

When I get the new Carbon Cobra Seat Post, should I clean it totally out and just place the NEW Cobra in, make sure there no grease left in the Seat Post Tube? And I read that I need to make sure that the Seat Post is at least 8.5cm in the tube, is that correct also.

thanks

Throughly clean your seat tube and seat clamp with a degreaser or at least make sure there's no more trace of grease. Dry it clean with a clean cloth.
You don't need any grease or whatsoever when installing a carbon material product, it will definitely slip if you apply grease unto it.
If you die do wanna use some sort of a paste on your seat post or any other carbon part than try to get carbon paste like in Tacx Carbon Assembly Paste.

Thanks Zeppelin,

I figured as much, and thought there would most likely be an issue, but just wanted to know how much to clean, and looks like its good get a full cleaning to make sure nothing is left. I'll start cleaning it now.

Much appreciated,
