1" steerer fork question

Sorry if this is covered elsewhere, but I am new to this forum..
I'm looking for a carbon blade fork for a rigid MTB 1" threadless steerer
My current fork measures 41cm from center of axle to crown race.
38-40 fork rake.
This will be for rim brakes only. I don't need the disc attachment, but
will take it if necessary.
The shortest ones you list seem to be 42.5cm Am I reading this wrong?
Will there be much difference if I use a 42.5 fork on this bike?

Also, for V-brake use, does this fork require a brake bridge or can it hold
up to moderate use without one? This is kind of a "project" build on a very
cool old school frame and I'm looking for the sleakest and lightest setup.

Thanks for your help.

Hi

All our rim brake forks also have a disc mount. The shorter forks than 42.5 are meant for smaller wheels ie 33.9 for 24" and 28.8 for 20". 42.5 seems most suitable for your needs. There would be a slight difference but most people wouldnt notice it. You could consider slightly lower profile front tyre to compensate a little, but it is probably not neccessary, and you can setup the V brakes to suit your build.

It sounds like a great project we would love to see the some photos of the finished bike.

Good luck
