|
|
Hey there,
I was planning to replace my 10 year old SunTour XCR on my bike with a rigid fork, but I am struggling to find the right fork to fit my bike's geometry and specs:
- 26"
- IS Disc Mount
- Fork length (A-C): 49mm
- Picture here: https://ibb.co/T4TjLYD
The longest 26" fork that I found on your website 46.5cm https://www.carboncycles.cc/index.php?p=499& . Could this fork work for my bike - or would it significantly impact the geometry?
The only fork with the correct length is this https://www.carboncycles.cc/index.php?p=1765&#top - but it is meant for 29" bikes. This fork also comes with a PM disc mount, which isn't ideal because I would need an adaptor.
Would anyone be able to help me find the correct replacement fork?Thank you so much in advance! |

Hi,
The fork you suggested is a suitable option. As stated in the 'Geom' Corrected for' column, the fork is ideal to replace a 150mm travel 26" fork, like yours seems to be. Unfortunately, you are correct, the 49cm forks are only available as post mount, so you will need to get an adapter.
Hope that helps.
Regards,

Thanks @mikethebike for the quick reply. Just to clarify - you are recommending to get the 49cm 29er (https://www.carboncycles.cc/index.php?p=1765&#top)? |

Hi,
This fork is usable for:
26 in: correcting 150mm of travel
650b: correcting130mm, 140mm of travel
29er / 700c: correcting 100mm, 120mm, 130mm of travel
Based on you measuring the length as 49cm as shown in step 6 here (https://www.carboncycles.cc/index.php?s=1&t=0&f=viewtopic.php?p=3820__a__amp;) then this fork should work.

Oh I see, thanks for clarifying. I wasn't sure whether there are different versions of the same fork. I just realised though that the fork is unfortunately not available anymore - do you have any idea when it will be back in stock? |

Hi,
We had feedback from the team. The fork is in manufacturing and we expect it to be back in stock end of September/beginning of October.

Hey, thanks for the feedback. Well, I guess I'll have to live with my current fork for a few more months then Just to confirm: there's no alternative fork with the same specs that is currently in stock, or is there (I wasn't able to find an alternative option)? |

Hi,
Sorry for the slow reply. Unfortunately, both options that could fit your requirement are not available. Sorry that we can't be more helpful straight away.
